Happy Days of Sadness

An ancient tradition of bringing a new Torah
to a synagogue as soon as it is finished being written.

Over 7 years ago a terrorist attack blew up a bus in Jerusalem killing many. In late 2009 a new Torah finished being written in memory of a 23 year old Mother and her year old son who were killed in that attack. She left behind a daughter and a Husband who reside in Jerusalem today.
7 Years later over one thousand Jews from her small local Moshav (town) were present to dance and celebrate the finishing of this new Torah. It was emotional and it was inspiring. It was an event that shows what Israel is all about. The beautiful part is, there is probably many events like this weekly here in Israel; celebrating a new Torah for one reason or another.

Hi Grandma!

Grandma was about to go into surgery,

so the grandkids sent her this heartwarming hello!

My good friend,a fellow Oleh from the USA,  just had a baby boy, MazalTov! After filming and photographing the event he asked if I could put together a video for his mother back in the states who couldn’t make it. She wasn’t feeling very well and was soon going to be going into surgery.  After posting this video he called his mother as she was heading out to surgery -  he caught her just in time and insisted she watched it. Baruch Hashem it seemed to lift her spirits quite a bit. Refua Shlema to grandma!

An extroardinary site!

Here is a family of 14 whose roots date back to the first Jerusalem Temple more then 2000 years ago. They are making the Matza, unleavened bread, which must be baked from start to finish in under 18minutes.

For over 3000 years the people of the Book have been making Matza, to commemorate their Exodus out of Egypt.
